Site: West Terrace (click image to enlarge)Requirements: Could start building tomorrow
What’s good about it:
- The land is already cleared
- It is a highly under-utilised part of the city
- There is lots of land there thus carparking not a major issue
- Opportunity to create a new ‘precinct’ and open the ‘West End’ of town
- Transport to this side of town is poor - West Tce especially
- There’s nothing else there so economic benefit would be minimal to surrounding areas
- May require moving of community sporting ovals
Large open parcel of land, but probably still not close enough to the ‘busy’ areas of town. It would, however, create a new buzz around this side of town.

Colonel, did you know that where in West Parklands you have marked for potential Light Stadium, there exist an Adelaide High School? (That is added into the West Parklands since your original plan in 19th century.) I don't think the education dept, Australian Education Union, Adelaide HS students, parents and alumni would be too happy if the construction works starts tomorrow...
That's easily fixed. Just move Adelaide High School to the Keswick Army Barracks. The West Parklands with an upgraded Mile End station and West Terrace is the best location in my opinion.
